tariq khanDesiMag: You performed in Ludhiana recently to promote your new album Dil De Deyo.’ Which was out last month – how was it?

Tariq: I can’t find any words that will justify the experience of performing in India. I was performing in front of crowds of 25,000 people at a range of shows nationally in India. I especially enjoyed the performance in Ludhiana/chandhighar the crowds were phenomenal and they all loved my music and performance.

DM: You have also launched this album through T-Series, tell us a little about how it all happened?

TK: T.series  were in the UK  busy scouting new talent and they  saw me perform at a show and approached my management team and asked to arrange a meeting. I met them..trust me the T.series people are not easily pleased they re looking for an individual with the whole package to offer.. the X factor..they want voice, looks, performance etc. Lucky for me they liked my whole package and loved my style and my music vision. they asked me if i was interested and once all the formalities were done i was flown to India – Mumbai to record “DDD.”

DM: We recently saw you working the crowd at the Zee Carnival – Tell us how that went for you?

TK: I love performing at the Zee Carnival..the buzz is amazing there..you can really feel the vibe..when i went on stage the crowd went crazy..especially to the hit track “BlORI AKH”   i actually jumped off the stage and went  into the crowd and started to dance  with all my lovely fans… oh and i gave  plenty of my Cd’s to all my fans..

DM: Your Second song on stage was Dil De Deyo, tell us a little about the song?

TK: “DIL DE DEYO”  is a very unique and mellow/ romantic track whereas my signature style is very upbeat and fast music..I wanted to create something  soft romantic yet realistic and this track has purely come from the heart.

DM: Why is Dil De Deyo different from your other songs?

TK: “DDD” is different from my other albums as  this album is very personal to me i have wrote about my true feelings in the track “DDD” .  The album has a range of styles  and music genres to  cater for all taste..i have slow and very upbeat tracks.  Tariq Khan 7

What also makes this album  so different  from my previous one is the fact that i went to India and used Bollywood  producers :Raju shankar /Tarun Rishi form “Welcome” film who produced the famous track “ Ik ucha lamba kad film. I fused both bollywood and Brit Asia talent together  to give a unique flava to the album.

DM: What are you plans for 2009?

TK: I have a very busy 2009  professionally and personally.  I am busy promoting the the new album “DDD” and have bookings lined up till 2010. In between this i want to  start working on my next album. I will be performing worldwide this year..so i guess i will spend most of  time travelling. Alongside this i have appearances on a number of shows in India booked for  mid 2009. So for me its all go go go…

DM: Where can your fans see you perform in the future?

TK: My  fans can  see me perform at a range of summer Mela’s, live concerts and a range of media interviews. best way is to check my website or my facebook group.  I have been so busy with shows since i have come back from India.
