 Spring/Summer 2010 is set to be a whirlwind of fashion as local and international talent take to the stage!

Dubai, UAE, 8 October, 2009: Dubai Fashion Week (DFW), now in its 6th edition, and bigger than ever before has revealed its line-up for the Spring/ Summer 2010 (SS10) season. Totalling 33 designers, the show once again promises to be an experience not to be missed for fashionistas across the region! 

On debut for the first time are; Aartivijay Gupta, Babita M, Amato by Furne One, Barbara Bela, Beenas & B’jouel, ESTINNA by Tina G Bedi, Frilz by Ash, Kanzi, Lamborghini, Ora by Rimalya, Michael Cinco, Rajnish Malhotra, Shrekahath Yedulla, Siddartha Tyler, and Z for Z.  

Also showcasing is previous emerging talent winners Homa Q & Najibah Pandor. Returning designers include; Dessange Paris, Ekta Singh, Troy Costa, Hatem Alakeel, HSY, L’Oreal, Mariam Al Mazro, Salma Khan, and Walid Atallah!  Marc Robinson, Dubai Fashion Week Co-founder and Director-Fashion says, “DFW has truly made its mark on the international fashion agenda. As a regular part of Dubai Fashion Week, showcasing this season for the first time are the Emerging Talent winners; Anam Sohail – “Anam’s Wardrobe”, Asma Chapti – “Haute Vintage”, Dona Gilbert – “Kappa/Maxim”, Irena Trajkova –“Arabbella”, Khalid Alhajri – “Studio Khaled”, Natasha Petafi – “Natasha Petafi” and the duo team comprising of Simone Khambatta and Roma Narsinghania – “Vibgyor”. 

Al Jaziri Motors, the Lamborghini franchise operator in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, will also be showcasing during DFW. Lamborghini has its own fashion range, sold under the Collezione Automobili Lamborghini brand, which will be shown during fashion week. In addition, L’Oreal and Dessange are set to produce stunning shows to highlight this seasons key make-up and hair style trends.

An E2010 Spring/Summer show scheduled for October 24-29, 2009 reveals a change of venue

  Dubai, UAE, 16 August, 2009: Organisers of Dubai Fashion Week (DFW), Concept Events, today announced the Spring/Summer 2010 (SS10) season will be showcased at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City between October 24th – 29th this year.

The change of venue, in response to the success of the Fall/Winter show, will accommodate larger crowds including buyers, media and guests who are expected to attend and experience more than 35 designer collections at this edition. Designers participating are from around GCC & South Asia.

Last season’s popular designers including Walid Atallah, Reem Ali Beljafla, HSY, Aly Fawaz, Amal Murad, Salma Khan and Mariam Al Mazro are returning, much to the anticipation of buyers, media and fashionistas and many new collections will also be showcased. Several designers showcasing for the first time at DFW include Furne One, Siddarth Tytler, Michael Cinco & Beenas. Collections will range from couture to prêt à porter.
Concept Events is also calling for entries from up-and-coming designers for this season’s Emerging Talent Competition giving winners of the rigorous judging process the opportunity to showcase their collections alongside some of the region’s best.

EXCLUSIVE: Dubai Fashion Week Announces Show Schedule for Autumn/Winter 2009

Dubai, UAE: Dubai Fashion Week (DFW) has revealed its line-up for the Autumn/Winter 2009 (AW09) season from April 5 – 9, 2009 at the Godolphin Ballroom, Jumeirah Emirates Towers.

The show promises to be an unmissable experience for fashion-lovers across the region with an eclectic mix of 28 designers exclusively showcasing their new collections.  Alongside some of the region’s more established designers such as BodyAMR and HSY, renowned for their limited-editions and couture respectively, the week will also showcase the winners of DFW’s Emerging Talent Competition, giving those lucky enough to attend, an exclusive sneak preview at wardrobe must haves and trends for AW09.

The third annual Dubai Fashion Week (DFW) kicked off on Sunday, but designers and buyers have complained that the event does not generate enough business for them.

While the buyers at the London Fashion Week in September last year placed $19.8 million in orders, the company behind Dubai’s fashion week, Concept Events, said it does not know how much was sold at the Dubai

event. One designer, Aiisha Ramadan, said she did not sell anything at all.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 21st February 2010: Local fashion designer Juhi Yasmeen Khan today unveiled her flagship designer boutique, JYK. Located in Al Mina Road, JYK features nine established and upcoming designers including Celebrity designer labels Shahid Afridi, Salma Khan, Sanskriti, Najibah Pandor, Mariam Al Mazro, Homa Qamar, Anam Sohail, Aartivijay Gupta and Ayesha Shiraz.

The boutique will officially be open to the public on: Saturday February 27th.
