Tweezer’s are good for getting those small tiny hairs out from anywhere on the body.

Did you know?

The tweezers utilized in contemporary times are inspired by tools and pincers used in bygone eras for such matters as crafts and cooking.

Art work from ancient times depicts cave dwellers and pre-dynastic Egyptians using tweezer-like apparatuses. Similar artifacts that have been discovered from Mesopotamia and India date back to 3000 BC. Attempts have been made to make tweezers over, like the time electric tweezers were introduced into the market to supposedly remove hair permanently, but the most lasting type of tweezers remain the ones that resemble miniature tongs and require nothing but the fingers of the user to operate them.

The Benefits?

Having a pair of tweezers handy guarantees that you will be able to adjust the shape of your brows when it is most convenient. Even if you do not regularly set aside the time to maintain your eyebrows, if you find yourself unexpectedly with some downtime on a day that would have been typically busy, you can always head off to the privacy of your car or the ladies room. Tweezing the strays from beneath and in between your brow line brightens up not only your eye area, but the rest of your face as well.

So which one should i buy?

Thin Tip: Good for grasping small, fine hairs, and plucking ingrown hair.
Slanted Tip: Gives maximum control.
Square Tip: Best used for removing coarse hairs or several hairs at a time.

Best time to Tweeze?

DesiMag: Tweeze immediately after showering or apply a hot washcloth to loosen hair follicles. This allows you to tweeze with less pain.

DesiMag:: Hold a pencil vertically along the side of the nose. Eyebrow should start at the outside edge of the pencil.

Hint: Leaving a bit more space between your eye and eyebrows – this will widen close-set eyes.

DesiMag: Hold pencil to outside of eye. This is where the eyebrow of a bombshell should end.

DesiMag: Smooth brows with a little moisturizer to help hairs slide out – Some people like to add some talc on their brows to see the dark hairs more.

DesiMag: Brush brows up to find a natural arch.

DesiMag: Draw in the desired shape beforehand with a soft eye shadow pencil – This way you can follow the line rather then guessing.

Hint: Don’t use an eyeliner pencil. It will cause you to pluck too much plus its too dark.

DesiMag: Tweeze under the brow first, plucking in the direction of the growth. Hint: If your plucking becomes too painful, apply a little Anbesol (yes, that pain reliever for teeth also numbs the brows)

DesiMag: Using an eyelash comb, comb brows upwards and trim any hairs that extend beyond the natural top or brow bone.

DesiMag: After tweezing, soothe the area with cool, wet tea bags.

Result – Glamorous lashes!

Girls always want their skin to look picture perfect, I know I do I see it in magazines all the time but those girls have been airbrushed to look perfect I have a few pointers and tips on how to get rid of spots and blemishes and cover them without looking like you have caked your face using make-up.

Spots can start at puberty and research shows last up to the age of 30. 80% of people are affected at some time in their life. I wish I was the remaining 20% but I’m not so just like everyone else I do the following things to stay away from them as much as possible. Picking spots is a no no, this causes scaring.

Usually a good diet of fruit and vegetable is very important for looking after the skin but this does not always stop spots from occurring. Also another myth is that spots is caused by poor hygiene and not cleaning well, however I would just like to clarify that this is not true.

So girls below are home made ways that have been tried and tested of getting rid of spots and blemishes

Ø One of the oldest trick in the book is to put toothpaste on your spots and leave it on overnight.

Ø 8 glasses of water really does do the trick.

Ø Calamine lotion that is applied over night can calm blemishes and leave the skin feeling fresh the next morning.

Ø Cold milk and nutmeg that’s been grounded and mixed together and then applied can help Spots disappear without leaving marks.

Ø One spoon lemon juice and one spoon cinnamon powder mixed can help stop spots starting to occur.

Ø For spots that swell and are red try applying fresh juiced papaya with seeds and skin to help reduce the redness.

Ø Mixing one spoon groundnut oil and one spoon lime juice can stop blackhead from forming.

If you’re on a night out and you want to cover the imperfections, then below is a way of covering the spots using MAC products you can however use other products that will work just as well.

firstly you need to moisturise the face its easier to cover spots that are red then spots that are dry and flaky moisturising it will just help soften it and make it easier to work with. I would use the MAC fix + spray, spray it onto the skin and then rub it into the skin then apply your normal moisturiser.
Depending on what suits your face you can use a foundation liquid or powder.

If the spots are really bad I recommend using the studio stick concealer from MAC this give full coverage and you can use it as a foundation as well. The other one I would recommend is the MAC select cover up this one is creamy and not thick.

if you are using a liquid concealer put a little but on the back of your hand and using your fingers directly apply it to the spot, then using a blending brush fluff if up, in a circular motion. Blend the spot into your skin this will give a even finish.

Then using the studio fix powder or invisible powder, this is for more coverage apply it to the spot using the brush. Use invisible if you think you do not need that much coverage and use a colour one to suit your skin tone if you think you need more coverage.

the final step to getting the flawless look is to take the FIX + spray, spray it onto the brush jus enough to mist it, not to much to soak it then dab it onto the affected area and then rub it a little bit. This will moisturise it a little bit more this will stop the foundation looking dry.

Now that your skin looks picture perfect you can go out and have a great night out!

Asian D8

We have all experienced those first date nerves with the perpetual worrying of what do I wear; what time should we meet; where do we go; is it safe; the list can go on and on. Cue AsianD8online.com, unlike many other Asian Dating sites AsianD8online.com helps you find your perfect match through its extensive membership database, but also offers all its members the opportunity to meet other members at one of its many weekly events across the UK.

AsianD8online.com believes that the safety of its members is of the upmost importance and prefers its users to meet in a safe and secure environment, opposed to a typically unmanaged environment.

Sujan Shah Director of AsianD8online.com believes that the site “offers a unique inbuilt facility whereby all online members have access to our forthcoming events.

Members can invite other members to any of the events and best of all actually arrange to meet one another at a staffed event. The events are carefully managed which make it safe and secure, yet informal and fun, a perfect platform for follow ups. “I firmly believe that we have made it as easyas possible for our online daters to meet safely – Asian Dating could not be any easier or safer”.

AsianD8online also claims that it helps member confidence when you combine both events and online dating. Sujan Shah went on to say “Members that have seen someone on our website know a little more about a potential date before they meet because an element of interaction that has already taken placed online.

Therefore when they turn up at our events, and see our staff managing the event, they feel more confident in approaching each other.”

AsianD8online has also gone a step further by offering its members discounts to all its events. They provide their members with exceptional value for money especially beneficial in today’s current economic climate but quintessentially still making it even easier for Asians to get dating! So AsianD8online have taken care of some of your first date anxieties but they still can’t help you with that time old question – what do I wear? Unfortunately that is down do individual taste and there is no right or wrong dress code as it’s more about expressing personalities, and the way you dress says something.

However, it always helps not to look as though you have been working in a coal mine all day.

AsianD8online.com launched in November 2008 off the back of their successful singles events company AsianD8events.com which has been running since 2003.

It provides an online dating service for Asians which they say is more in line with the expectations of modern Asians around the world. Nine months on AsianD8online.com is one of the fastest growing Asian Dating sites on the web.

A recent survey from BMRB has revealed that 67% of peoples who have a gym membership never use it, however, Creating Chaos, a young business founded by Phill Wright and Jenny Gwynne, are providing an alternative that goes beyond a gym membership helping people to dust down their training shoes and get fit in the New Year.

“The reason our service is so attractive to people is that we’ve taken complex concepts, normally available to athletes or professional sports people and made it available to anyone” says Phill.

“We run our exercise sessions outdoors at different times which works well for city workers, and it is more the additional support that sets us apart.

We get to know and understand each client before we set them off on a journey. Knowing what they want and how their body functions, we then help them set clear goals and provide nutritional support that helps them benefit from the 3 major aspects of healthy living; exercise, nutrition and lifestyle.

This, along with the support and camaraderie that they get from their fellow colleagues, who are also taking part in the classes, mean that they are much more likely to exercise regularly.”

Phill and Jenny’s concept moves away from the traditional gym setting for their classes, in favour of the outdoors.

They have been working with land management firms, British Waterways and local authorities to provide convenient locations and make use of green space and the canal pathways as locations for their classes.

In a survey by the charity Mind, 71% of people who exercise outdoors confirmed that it helps to boost their mood.

This is important at a time when companies are recruiting less and looking to optimise their own resources. Workloads increase and ultimately stress levels.

“Exercising during the day provides a perfect stress buster and the extra bonus of getting fitter whilst you’re doing it” says Jenny.Creating Chaos has put together a package of activities for businesses that in addition to exercise, combine nutrition and commitment training. “If people regularly incorporate these three components into their daily routine, they will see greater, more sustainable results” says Jenny.

Their model is very unique and provides a service that brings together people looking to achieve varying and different goals “Just because people have varying goals doesn’t mean they can’t support each other and work together. We get to know the goals of every client and then give them what they need to move forwards” says Phill.

Currently in the North, it is the aim of Creating Chaos to drive their concept across the nation and beyond. With their online support and ideas, it is quite easy to see this spreading with pace.

The Creating Chaos team have already recruited a number of companies providing a complete wellbeing package into the work place.

Tom Potter from P & HS Architects said “Having never been a gym lover, I was apprehensive about trying the sessions. From a fitness perspective, it is by far the best facility I have ever used.

The group sessions are a brilliant work out. They are ideal for anyone, extremely convenient to office hours, and being outdoors is a great way of avoiding the mirrors, stuffiness and image conscious gym environment.”

We realise that with the demands of today’s busy lifestyle individuals are finding it increasingly difficult to meet new people and therefore believe online dating is one of the most convenient and modern ways to overcome this barrier.

Asian D8

To ensure that you have a successful and enjoyable online dating experience we have compiled some useful tips to get you started.

Create a Great Profile This is your opportunity to really express who you are and what you are looking for in a potential partner.

The more information you can complete the better your chances are of attracting some-one who has similar interests, beliefs and outlook on life as you do.

Make your profile interesting to read, most people want to read about you in your own words, so ensure you fill this section out as much as you can highlighting your best characteristics. If you find this difficult, why not get a friend to help you out and tell you a bit about yourself and what they like about you the most before you write it.

The best bit about your AsianD8Online profile is that you get to add your moto in life, this is the first thing people see when viewing your profile… so make it a good one! Add a Great Photo It has been proven that a profile with pictures is viewed more so than those without, therefore if you are serious about meeting some-one then what are you waiting for add a photo or two.

Remember a picture tells a thousand words, make sure you add a photo that shows the real you and shows you to your full potential, first impressions count.

Here’s a few stats we’ve collated from our weekly poll of members:

1) Are you more likely to look at a profile with a photo?
91% said Yes
4% said No
The rest said it doesn’t matter.

So, if you don’t want to miss out on meeting the one; just upload a single photo. It is more likely to get your profile viewed by a potential match.

2) Does a poor quality photo put you off a member?
81% said Yes
2% said No
The rest said it doesn’t matterEnsure you have a good quality shot, that highlights your best features, especially your smile, people are more likely to
be attracted towards a smiling face!

3) If a member has more than 1 photo how likely are you to contact them?
46% Very Likely
29% Likely
The rest said is doesn’t matter

Upload a few photos of yourself so that the person viewing your profile can get a good idea of what you look like… as the results show they are more likely to contact you!

Be Proactive
The key to successfully meeting some-one online is to stay proactive, sitting back and resting on your laurels will not get people emailing you unless you look like Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie. If you really like some-one make the first move, you have nothing to lose and you could potentially have met the person of your dreams.

Making the first move can always seem daunting, and even though you’re not face-to-face you can still feel a little nervous… that’s why we say “wave” at them, this shows you’re interested but maybe a little too shy to send an email, when they wave back you know that they are interested in hearing from you, therefore helping you get over the nerves of making contact. Remember to Stay Safe.

Your safety is paramount and the following are just some points that will help you stay safe online and when meeting dates:

Avoid giving any personal information including phone numbers, email addresses and home addresses to another user until you feel safe to do so.

Never ever provide anyone with your financial information.

If you arrange to meet some-one you met online, always arrange to meet them in a public place and tell a family member or friend where you are going.

Never get picked up from home on a first meeting, if possible take your own car, that way you have a way of getting home after the date safely.

Most of all remember to have fun and enjoy meeting new people through online dating, you may meet the person of your dreams, or make a few friends along the way, but what ever you do have a good time doing it!

What is it?

The menopause occurs when levels of the female hormones oestrogen and progesterone fall and your body stops producing eggs. Menstruation ceases permanently and you’re no longer able to conceive. It can be a time of great physical and emotional change that can overwhelm you if you don’t know what to expect.

When does it occur?

There’s no predicting when the menopause will occur. Generally, it’s between the ages of 45 and 55, but for a few women it can start as early as 35 – or as late as 60. This doesn’t mean you’re in any way abnormal, although an unusually early menopause (before the age of 36, sometimes as young as 18) may have implications that need to be addressed.

Without the previously high levels of oestrogen, your risk of heart disease and osteoporosis (brittle bones) increases. If the menopause comes early – or if there’s a high family risk of these diseases – you should see your GP. If he or she thinks it appropriate, tests such as a bone-density scan or mammogram will be arranged.

Usually, there’ll be some sign that the menopause is approaching. Periods can gradually become further apart, they may be scantier and not last as long. Alternatively, some women experience heavier bleeding with shorter gaps between. Occasionally, menstruation just stops altogether with no warning.

For the majority of women, the menopause will last no more than a couple of years, although others experience symptoms for as long as five or six years.

Physical symptoms

The decline in the release of oestrogen and progesterone can begin a few years before menstruation stops, leading to some uncomfortable physical symptoms including:

Hot flushes – most women experience these in varying degrees of severity. There can be an all-over hot feeling one minute – enough to make you feel like opening all the windows in the house – and a shivering sensation the next. On average, flushes occur four or five times a day and usually last from a few seconds to a few minutes. Some women also experience ‘crawling’ sensations on the skin.

Night sweats – these are hot flushes that occur at night. If severe, they can drench your bedding, disturbing your sleep pattern and that of your partner.

Irregular, scant or heavy periods – this is a common sign of the approaching menopause, but it’s worth remembering that irregular or heavy bleeding can be caused by conditions other than the menopause (for example, polyps or fibroids), so it’s a good idea to get it checked out.

Dry or itchy skin – as we age, our skin becomes thinner and without oestrogen our skin finds it difficult to retain moisture.

Aches and pains – low levels of oestrogen can lead to an increase in aches and pains. These can range from joint and muscular pains to backaches or headaches.

Insomnia – this is caused by low levels of oestrogen, but can be exacerbated by night sweats as these disturb your sleep pattern. It can also be brought on by anxiety or depression.

Tiredness and lethargy – lack of sleep owing to night sweats can cause you to feel exhausted during the day.

Bladder problems – these include an increased susceptibility to cystitis or other bladder infections and stress incontinence. Stress incontinence is caused by loss of muscle and tissue elasticity in the pelvic cavity, which leads to a tendency to leak urine on coughing or laughing. Some women also experience reduced bladder capacity.

Loss of vaginal elasticity – intercourse can become uncomfortable or painful owing to the thinning of the vaginal walls, causing dryness and loss of elasticity. A water-based lubricant can help, although if the pain is severe and persistent it’s advisable to seek medical help.

Other symptoms such as dizziness, swollen ankles and palpitations have been reported but are less common.

Emotional symptoms can include:

Panic attacks – getting older in a society where youth is everything can be stressful and cause increased levels of anxiety. Frequently feeling anxious can lead to panic attack symptoms including palpitations, shortness of breath or dizziness.

Poor memory and concentration – since oestrogen plays a part in the healthy functioning of nerve cells in the brain, there could be some slight drop-off in concentration when there’s less of it.

Decrease in sexual desire – this may be caused by the decrease in female hormones, tiredness or vaginal dryness, which can cause pain or discomfort. But the reasons aren’t always physical. If there are misunderstandings in a long-term relationship that have never been addressed, they may come to the fore now. It could be the menopause is the trigger but not the cause of your loss of libido. Try talking things through with your partner.

On the other hand, some women find they enjoy sex more after the menopause. Freedom from worry about unwanted pregnancy can release your inhibitions, bringing with it spontaneity and an increase in sexual confidence. For some couples, it can be a new beginning.

The extent of menopause symptoms varies from person to person, but with a bit of help you can minimise the effects.
