Yeh hai Jalwa! Salman ka Jalwa! Soon to drop Dabanng on us, which is getting very positive responses with its already hit soundtrack, Salman gave a demo of his power while promoting the movie in Rajasthan this week by giving a pupils from a Jaipur college, the day off??

Amongst all the screaming and fainting over the young hot stud, Salman asked the students what they wanted and they asked for a day off college? So Salman being Salman puts the request in to the  college principal who turns around as said yes!!

Now the star might have been joking around with the request, but it went down a treat when it was taken seriously. The college principal declared a holiday and Salman becomes a super hit for Jaipurs Engineering students. Seems like his ”tash” has not only intimidated the world but the Collegue Principal as well.

We wonder what Super-Man will do next!

Shahrukh Khan, Akon and Kareena Kapoor.

Khan’s character in the upcoming super hero film Ra.One is called G.One for Good One.

 

“G.One stands for the good one & sustainer of life. To protect life he is ready to put his own [on] the line. Hope u all like him….will show soon,” Khan tweeted on May 31.

The 44-year-old actor, who has had to loose a lot of weight for his super-hero role, joked that he feels G.One could well stand for Gaunt One.

“After losing so much weight i feel g stands for the gaunt one,” he tweeted.

The name of the film – Ra.One – is short for Random Access Version 1. The film targets kids and is about a superhero who can freeze electricity.

Khan plays a Miami based software engineer named Shekhar, who as a video-game hero takes on his self-created techno-monster Ra One.

The film, set in London, additionally stars Kareena Kapoor and Sahana Goswami.

Kareena plays lead in the film, opposite Khan, as a young mother of an eight-year old. When he falls in love with Kareena, Khan imagines her as one of the characters.

“Ra.One is a very ambitious project. It’s a film that kids will enjoy for sure. It’s not only for kids but the idea is also to bring action to a different level. It’s hugely experimental,” says Arjun Rampal who plays villain in the film.

American singer Akon recorded a song for the film in Mumbai. 

The K’s (Khan & Kapoor’s) are in the Uk in the first week of July wrapping up some shots for the film.

The new song from Badmaash Company “Ayaashi” has Shahid Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Meiyang Chang and Vir Das in an extremely glamorous look.

 

When the director of the film, Parmeet Sethi saw the clothes that had been selected for the song, he immediately rejected them. He wanted the look to be just perfect, so he actually went out to genuine designer stores and shopped for the cast in New York. The boys turned out looking dapper and Anushka couldn’t be more chic!

K: Well next, Khiza presents a new up and coming music producer Jay and a new 20 years old singer from birmingham, who goes under the name of Aly Hash that’s the next project i have been working on with the two talented artists.

The album n video are out on the 19th march called, ”Jeena Mera …” after that i am off to india for my album promotion tour.

On my return, i’m looking to produce my next video, releasing from my album ”Turning point” …this time again, new flavours, a more drum n base track called ”Dil Marjaane Nu” featuring heartless crew’s ”Mighty Moe” and my new artist from Delhi, India… ”Nidhi Kohli” …then after that i have the final video phew!!! LOL

This is the big tune from the album,  featuring Hadiqa Kiani. I think that is more then enuff for now…

K: Memorable journey hmmm…. a question to think about! I think it has to be when i was abroad and coming across a talant which filled the gap i was looking to fill in the Album. ”Omer Nadeem” awesome talent which made my year! Talent like that is very hard to come by.

K: Motivation, my fans and their love always keeps me motivated, their opinions on my music, i also motivate myself by creating new and fresh music from fresh talent. Also traveling to different destinations in the world to learn about music there, and the culture of music of which i try to embed in my tracks when i create a production.

DesiMag: How can young talent be more involved with music?

K: Simple they have to love music and love what they do in music , It really how hungry you are to get out there. But as their is so mush competition now 100% commitment is essential and always be ready for ups and down in this industry.

DesiMag: Tell us what you’re working on at the moment?

K: Just gona start the new single featuring Hadiqa Kiani and looking forward to shooting the video later in the year.

K : Dine and Wine lol dont really get time for that but which ever part of the country i am in – Birmingham, London, Manchester, i always visit the popular restaurants, that way u cant go wrong.

K: Few days ago i got the CD from the forthcoming bollywood movie called ”Prince,” my close friend from Mumbai has produced the music for the movie, he told me to have a listen and let him know what i thought about the sound track …its good most of the songs are by a friend of mine from Pakistan Atif Aslam.

Directed by the talented Jugal Hansraj and featuring the voices of Bollywood superstars Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor as Romeo and Laila along with comedian Jaaved Jaffrey as Charlie Anna, Roadside Romeo released worldwide on October 24, 2008. One of the most important children film festival in the world, The 20th Cairo International Film Festival For Children took place from March 4th to 11th this year under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture and the Government of Egypt. It's A Wonderful Afterlife.

‘It’s A Wonderful Afterlife’, the film, releases in the UK on April 21, and in India and Pakistan on May 7. It is an Indian Films & Bend It Films presentation in association with Studio 18. Its theatrical release in other international markets will follow thereafter.

If sources are to be believed, ‘Staying Alive’, the evergreen disco song by Bee Gees, has had a stunning makeover on the soon-to-release soundtrack of Gurinder Chadha’s keenly anticipated comedy, ‘It’s a Wonderful Afterlife.’ Given the popularity of Bhangra music worldwide, noted British-Asian DJ and music producer Bally Sagoo is said to have given a new avatar to the hit single by fusing it with traditional Bhangra beats and called it ‘Staying Alive Desified’.

Given the film’s title and the director’s tribute to Frank Capra, the incredibly romantic ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ by the British band Black, will also feature in its original form, on the soundtrack, and in the film, at an important juncture in the relationship between Roopi (British-Indian actress Goldy Notay) and Detective Murthy (Heroes star, Sendhil Ramamurthy).

When contacted, directed Gurinder Chadha laughed, “Wait and watch! The soundtrack is going to be out very soon. It will blow you away. It’s the best East-West fusion featuring licensed tracks, remixed tracks and original compositions.”

Julia Roberts “Eat, Pray, Love” trailers are out now but now Hindus are concerned about the authenticity of the depiction of Hinduism objects ,rituals and traditions philosophy in it.

 

Directed by Emmy nominated Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck), its India part was shot in/around Pataudi, about 60 kilometers from India’s capital Delhi. Starting with USA release on August 13, it will be released in India on August 27 by Sony Pictures. It is yet to be rated.

Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that Hinduism and its belief system were quite often incorrectly depicted outside India and he hoped that filmmakers in this case would stick to authentic traditions in order to avoid misrepresenting the already misunderstood religion, which was oldest and third largest in the world. Film, being a powerful medium, misrepresentation would not be fair to Hindus and Hinduism.

Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, further said that Hindus welcomed Hollywood to explore the spirituality and rich philosophical thought of Hinduism but taking it seriously and depicting it authentically. Refashioning it for mercantile greed or to fit the Hollywood machine created more confusion and hurt the Hindu sentiments.

Rajan Zed pointed out that if the filmmaker needed any help concerning depiction of Hinduism or related issues, he or other Hindu scholars would be glad to assist.

Based on Pushcart Prize winner Elizabeth Gilbert’s spirituality/travel memoir (played by Roberts), “Eat, Pray, Love” is about her self-discovery and soul-searching after her nasty divorce, exploring through India, Italy, and Indonesia. Gilbert goes to India to learn the “art of devotion”. A critic has defined it as “the worst in Western fetishization of Eastern thought and culture”.

Meanwhile Bhavna Shinde of Forum for Hindu Awakening has said that filmmakers still have time before the August release to make a final visit to the movie and edit it accordingly so that authenticity of Hinduism is not compromised, and thus honoring the feelings of billion Hindus.

People of India will be anxious to see how perfectly Roberts does her job of cleaning ashram (hermitage) floors as a part of her devotional duty, trying to recite 182-verse Sanskrit chant, and going through grueling hours of meditation while being feasted on by mosquitoes. Gilbert reportedly spent four months in an India ashram few years back, trying to find her spirituality.

Besides Roberts, other cast of this drama film includes Golden Globe winner James Franco (Pineapple Express), Oscar winner Javier Bardem (Before Night Falls), MTV nominated Billy Crudup (Almost Famous), Oscar nominated Richard Jenkins (The Visitor), and Oscar nominated Viola Davis (Doubt).
