The claws were out in a battle to bag Matthew Williamson’s latest collection at H&M, where manic shoppers crowded Regent Street to queue for their piece of chic.
As the high street store’s doors opened for the designer’s launch, screeds of women ravaged the shelves within minutes.
The earliest fashionista to queue outside the flagship London store arrived at 6am and by opening time at 9am 150 women were backed up down the street.
When the racks were empty, shoppers tried to rip clothes off mannequins in a desperate attempt to get their hands on the collection.
“When the shoppers finally managed to get their hands on the collection there was a look of relief on some of the girls faces as well as panic on others of what to choose from first from the collection”, an H&M spokesperson said.
Pixie Geldof and Jamie Winstone were at the London flagship store as guests but took the opportunity to grab their quota of ‘two items per person’.
