Venue: The City Pavilion Romford London hntastic Line up on Mothers day, Shin from DCS performed a Tribute to Mohammed Rafi Sahib accompanied by the famous Indian band “Strings” and Anu shukla. This was a Mothers Day Special!
DesiMag were at the The City Pavilion which was a fantastic turnout. After talking to many people, they told us they were from all around London and up north for the spectacular Evening organized by Zaf Mughal and Rishi from Carving Dreams. More people turned out then expected and due to the seating arrangements the show started a little behind schedule.
The guests arrived on time @ 8pm all excited & looking forward to a Spectacular performance by Shin, Anu Shukla and the LIVE band Strings. The show didn’t start until 9pm.
Ladies arrived at the Pavilion with their families wearing elegant style temporary shades, all Blinged up in Sarees & Salwar suites looking absolutely stunning, men on the other hand had made more of an effort then we have seen in a long time, smartly dressed in black ties and suit, defiantly dressed to impress!
Zaf Mughal Hosted and took to the stage with welcoming all the guests and hosted that this event was no usual event at The City Pavilion, Romford, this event was dedicated to the LATE ‘Mohammed Rafi Sahib,’ Zaf mentioned how Mohammed Rafi had sung over 25,000 songs in his career and that the legendary singer was the heart of the entire globe, his voice reached across the nation and touched the heart of phenomenon follower,s no one had ever heard such a melodic voice that could never again be compared nor replaced by another.
Shin was at the heart of the night! From the well known famous Bhangra band DCS, Shin started the night With Rafi’s Hit song ‘Parda Hai Parda’ from the Bockbuster Film Amar, Akbar, Anthony.

Zaf continued hosting the Special Event dedicated for Mothers Day. Shin was then announced on stage shortly after his speech.
Shin took to the stage dressed in a white tailored suit, he began by saying what an honour it was to be performing songs by the legendary singer Mohammed Rafi sahib, shin emphasized he would be focusing on a few famous tracks throughout the night hoping to entertain the guests with the best selections’ from Rafi sahib’s compilation.
Shin performed the entire show single handed for the first time, he was very nervous as he repeatedly stated he was not a Hindi vocalist having sung endless Punjabi songs, being a hard core Punjabi singer throughout his entire career. The audience was very supportive and he amazed the crowds with such a fantastic line up.
Shin who dedicated the entire performance to Mohammed Rafi was accompanied by famous female vocalist Anupama Shukla, A.K.A Anu Shukla, whom sang in her melodious voice, livening up the crowd with a few dance moves too.
Anu who is well known for being part of the famous band ‘String”. Strings collaborated their vocals and musical talent with a lot of passion throughout the night. DesiMag would like to thank the management at Carving Dreams, Shin and Anu & all the guests who attending for making the evening so special for all the moms who were celebrating Mothers day.
